Following up until they sign up

Most deals are won on the third or fourth message. The goal is not a reply. The goal is a sign-up with a known email.

The goal

Success is a panel that has created a FiniTasks account, and you know the email address they used. That email is how we credit you. Without it we cannot tell whose work it was, and you cannot be paid for it.

The cadence

  • Day 0. The first message.
  • Day 2. A short nudge with one new useful fact (a service they sell that we can supply, or the API page).
  • Day 5. A different channel (if you emailed, try Telegram or their support desk).
  • Day 9. An offer of a small test order, and how to start in five minutes.
  • Day 14. A last friendly message that leaves the door open. Then move them to 'deferred' with a date to try again in 30 days.

Getting the sign-up email

  • When someone says yes, send the sign-up link and ask: 'Which email address will you register with? I will keep an eye out so I can help you set up.'
  • Write the email in the tracker the same day.
  • If they register with a different address, ask them for it. Do not guess.
  • When we see the sign-up, the tracker marks it, and you follow up until they fund the wallet and place a first order.

Rules of good follow-up

  • Each message adds something new. 'Just checking in' alone is not allowed.
  • Respect no. If they say not interested, thank them, record the reason, stop.
  • Never contact the same person twice in one day.
  • Log every attempt, even the ones that go nowhere.
Use AI for this

Let an assistant do the heavy lifting

Follow-ups die because people run out of things to say. Have the AI suggest the next useful thing, never 'just checking in'.

Here is my log with a panel so far: [paste dates and what was sent and said].

Suggest my next follow-up in under 40 words. It must add one new, useful thing (an observation about their services, an answer to something they asked, a small offer to test) and must not nag.

Also tell me if it is time to stop and what I should write in my record if so.

Watch out: Keep the real log yourself. The AI only suggests; you decide whether to send, and you always record the exact sign-up email.

Exercise

Do this before you move on

Write the day 2, day 5 and day 9 messages for the panel you contacted. Each must add something new. Post them in the training group for peer comments.

Check yourself

Answer first, then open

A panel says yes. What is the single most important thing to capture?

The email address they will sign up with.

They go quiet after day 9. What now?

Send the day 14 message, mark deferred, set a retry date 30 days out.
